Card Legends: Threefold

Terms of use

Effective: October 1, 2026

Card Legends: Threefold is a card game for iPhone and Android made by Anthony Nadaletti, Rua Assis Brasil 620, apto 1602, Maria Goretti, Chapecó, Santa Catarina, Brazil (“we”). These terms say what you get when you play it, what Montaro is, and what we ask of you. Our privacy policy says what the game keeps about you.

The game

  • The game is free to download and to play: Rook’s Harbour, Mara’s Riverboat, online play and Twenty-One cost nothing. There are no ads.
  • The game makes an anonymous account for your phone the first time it reaches our server. Your journey is saved there so it isn’t lost. You can delete it from inside the game at any time (Journal → gear → Your account → Delete account).
  • Your journey code, if you make one, is yours to keep safe: anyone who has it can carry on your journey, and we can’t tell them apart from you. You can make a new one at any time, and the old one stops working.
  • You may play on more than one phone with the same journey, through your journey code (iPhone or Android) or Sign in with Apple (iPhone only).

Montaro, the purchase

  • Montaro is a one-time purchase of a license to play the lands of the island after Mara’s Riverboat: Lirien’s Wood today, and Nerissa’s Reef, Halvar’s Fjord, Voss’s Expedition and Brenna’s Canyon as later updates bring them, at no further cost. It is the only thing the game sells.
  • The purchase is made through the App Store (on iPhone, under the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions) or Google Play (on Android, under the Google Play Terms of Service). The store sets the price in your country and takes the payment; we never see your card. Refunds are the store’s to give: on iPhone, ask at reportaproblem.apple.com; on Android, ask Google Play within 48 hours of the purchase (play.google.com, Order history), and after that write to us and we’ll ask Google to refund it.
  • Montaro belongs to the game account on the phone that bought it. Restore purchases brings it to a new phone or a new account with the same Apple Account (iPhone) or Google Account (Android), and taking a journey found on another account moves this phone’s purchases to it. A purchase made on one store can’t be restored on the other, but a journey found with a journey code brings the account’s Montaro with it, on either phone.
  • Montaro is a license, not a thing you own: it lets you play those lands in the game for as long as the game exists. It can’t be sold or given to someone else (on the App Store, outside Family Sharing, if that is on for the purchase).
  • The lands to come are named so you know what you’re buying. Each will ship inside Montaro, never as another purchase. We can’t promise a date for any of them.

Playing with other people

  • Other players see the name you choose, your look, your pet and your level at online tables. Don’t use your real name or anything personal. Names with offensive words aren’t allowed; the game refuses them, and a name several players report is hidden until its owner chooses another.
  • There is no chat. Please be a good opponent anyway: don’t leave tables on purpose to spoil a match, and don’t try to cheat, interfere with the server or with other players, or make accounts to get round a limit.
  • If an account is used to abuse other players or the service, we may hide its name, keep it from online tables or delete it. We’ll tell you why if you write to us.

What’s ours and what’s yours

  • The game, its name, its art, its music, its text and its code are ours or licensed to us. You may play the game, and you may share screenshots and videos of it, including for videos and streams you make money from. You may not copy its art or music into something else, or sell anything made from them.
  • Your journey is yours: your name, your choices and your progress. We keep it only to run the game, as the privacy policy says.

Changes and the end of the service

  • We change the game with updates: new lands, new cards, balance, fixes. An update can change how a card or a pet plays. It never takes Montaro away from an account that bought it.
  • The road plays offline, but online play and cloud saves need our server. If we ever have to shut the server down, we’ll say so inside the game and on this page, and the road will keep working on your phone.
  • We may change these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed, and a change that matters is announced in the game’s release notes. Playing after a change means you accept it.
  • We make the game as well as we can, but we provide it as it is, without a warranty that it will always work, be free of mistakes, or be available. As far as the law where you live allows, we are not liable for losses that come from playing it or from not being able to play it, beyond what you paid us in the last twelve months, which for a free game is nothing. Nothing here takes away rights the law gives you as a consumer, including under Brazil’s consumer code (Código de Defesa do Consumidor).
  • If a part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
  • The game isn’t designed for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them.
